Well I said crowd but hey if you want to enjoy all by yourself go ahead – just drink responsibly. Though there were a few wild cards in the mix, notably two recipes that called on yellow and green Chartreuse, respectively, the standouts proved an adage that Evans found to encapsulate the entire tasting: “Simplicity is best.Looking for a pitcher margarita recipe? Look no further! Here is a simple and quick blended frozen margarita recipe for a crowd. Evans deemed it the “most intense flavor-wise” in the group, while Centeno found it to be perfectly “juicy.” Our Homemade Margarita Recipe Good Tequila the older the tequila the smoother it is try a good blanco or reposado tequila Triple Sec and La Belle (or Grand. Wiseman calls for a full two ounces of tequila (she prefers Ocho Plata)-a half-ounce more than the other winners-alongside a half-ounce of Cointreau, an ounce of agave nectar, two ounces of lime juice and a Tajín-salt rim. Third place went to Christine Wiseman, whose recipe ticked all the boxes: sweet, acidic and tequila-forward. Frozen Strawberry-Basil Margarita Fresh, fruity and cool, this strawberry-basil margarita may be the perfect summer cocktail. (The only other recipe to include lime zest was Leanne Favre’s frozen Margarita, which likewise stood out to the judges and would appeal to drinkers looking for a slightly drier version of Magro’s recipe.) If theyre not super juicy, you can microwave them for 15 seconds to make them more juicy. “It’s almost like a cartoon version of a frozen Margarita,” said Evans, who found that it also channeled the cordial quality of Rose’s Lime Juice, “in a good way.” A pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt helped the flavors pop. Using a leftover juiced lime, rub the cut side of the lime around the rim of the glasses. Cover and blend until slushy and no ice chunks remain. Add the tequila, orange liqueur and lime juice into a blender, and top with 1 cup of ice. Second place went to Kristina Magro, whose recipe stood out chiefly for its inclusion of lime zest grated directly into the blender, integrating oils from the peel into the drink for an exceptionally bright and floral take. In a blender, combine limeade, tequilla, triple sec, and lime juice. Salt the rim of a chilled Margarita glass and set aside. To the expected blanco tequila (Traub favors Milagro), Cointreau, lime juice and agave nectar, Traub adds a splash of orange juice, a subtle touch that adds some necessary extra sweetness and roundness, while remaining almost undetectable. Bright, bold, sweet, and tart strawberries give an early summer punch to the classic margarita recipe. The recipe, however, is not quite so textbook. The judges found it to be the most “textbook” in the tasting, with Evans describing it as the most “universally palatable” and a frozen Margarita that would never be sent back. The unanimous first-place winner was the frozen Margarita of Haley Traub, general manager at New York’s Attaboy. Its volume is usually greater than that of its corresponding solid (water is a well-known exception to this rule). This means that a liquid is not definite in shape but rather conforms to the shape of its container. Intermolecular (or interatomic or interionic) forces are still important, but the molecules have enough energy to move around, which makes the structure mobile. When a solid is heated above its melting point, it becomes liquid because the pressure is higher than the triple point of the substance. The volume is definite (does not change) if the temperature and pressure are constant. LiquidsĪ liquid is a fluid that conforms to the shape of its container but that retains a nearly constant volume independent of pressure. A solid can also change directly into a gas through a process called sublimation. Ice has 15 known crystal structures, each of which exists at a different temperature and pressure.Ī solid can transform into a liquid through melting, and a liquid can transform into a solid through freezing. For example, iron has a body-centered cubic structure at temperatures below 912 ☌ and a face-centered cubic structure between 912 and 1,394 ☌. There are many different crystal structures, and the same substance can have more than one structure. In crystalline solids, particles are packed in a regularly ordered, repeating pattern. Solids can only change shape under force, as when broken or cut. As a result, a solid has a stable, definite shape and a definite volume. The forces between the particles are strong enough that the particles cannot move freely they can only vibrate. SolidsĪ solid’s particles are packed closely together. This diagram shows the nomenclature for the different phase transitions. Each of these three classical states of matter can transition directly into either of the other two classical states. Solid is the state in which matter maintains a fixed volume and shape, liquid is the state in which matter adapts to the shape of its container but varies only slightly in volume, and gas is the state in which matter expands to occupy the volume and shape of its container. Historically, the states of matter were distinguished based on qualitative differences in their bulk properties. Much of the atomic matter of the universe is hot plasma in the form of rarefied interstellar medium and dense stars. Further states, such as quark-gluon plasmas, are also believed to be possible. In extreme environments, other states may be present, such as plasma, Bose-Einstein condensates, and neutron stars. The three states of matter are the three distinct physical forms that matter can take in most environments: solid, liquid, and gas. solid: A substance that retains its size and shape without a container a substance whose molecules cannot move freely except to vibrate.gas: A substance that can only be contained if it is fully surrounded by a container (or held together by gravitational pull) a substance whose molecules have negligible intermolecular interactions and can move freely. It takes the shape of its container but maintains constant volume. liquid: A substance that flows and keeps no definite shape because its molecules are loosely packed and constantly moving.Gaseous matter is composed of particles packed so loosely that it has neither a defined shape nor a defined volume. Particles can move about within a liquid, but they are packed densely enough that volume is maintained. Liquid matter is made of more loosely packed particles. A solid will retain its shape the particles are not free to move around. Solid matter is composed of tightly packed particles.Matter can exist in one of three main states: solid, liquid, or gas.If I remember correctly, liquids are supposed to be incompressible, and clouds are likely compressible. So that makes it sound like it could be a liquid, or contain liquid droplets rather than "freely moving" molecules that typically make up a gas.īut at another web site, which doesn't seem all that authoritative, it says that clouds are a solid, liquid, and gas simultaneously! But condensation is by definition the change of state from a gas to a liquid. Since they describe it as a vapor, that makes me think it is indeed a gas. Clouds are an important part of Earth’s weather and TheĬondensation lets us see the water vapor. Clouds form when water condenses in the sky. For instance, from NASA:Ī cloud is a mass of water drops or ice crystals suspended in theĪtmosphere. I have been looking online and they are often described ambiguously as a "mass". Transcript: POWER OF 9 PROJECT PHOTOGRAPHY The best camera is the one that's with you. When the enemies get aggressive in later waves, Hostile picks up and entertains, but when you’re gunned down it’s all the way back to the slog of a start. Many will run up to you and wait to be stabbed, while others will just stand around and wait for you. The brick-dumb enemies don’t hamper the campaign, but they downright ruin Hostiles, since the first three to four waves of enemies take a while to plow through but they’re not a threat. Much like every shooter to release since Gears of War 2, Hostiles is a mode wherein you shoot wave after wave of enemies while looking to survive the longest you can. What about the rest of the package? There’s the Hostiles mode mentioned earlier. So Declassified’s campaign is a moderate success burdened by unsavory aesthetics and an unavoidable legacy. It’s ugliness isn’t a technical failing, just an artistic one. If Declassified had an entirely different skin and sound over its action, it may have actually been pretty swell. The environments are still drab and the music is still terrible, but they’re not poorly made. Once it’s clear that scores are the goal and you’re freed from the expectations of Call of Duty, it’s pretty fun. The fun is plowing through them aiming for a high score, just like the arcade games of yore. Like Mega Man or Contra, Declassified’s levels are preset gauntlets full of brute enemies following simple patterns. The fifth mission’s raid on a Russian base took me only forty minutes and my completion time was 6:57.Įventually I got it: Declassified doesn’t just tell its story like an ‘80s action video game, it plays like one too. The same thing happened with the following missions, but I improved as I got accustomed to the game’s rigid, seemingly backward dynamics. That’s two minutes and thirty-seven seconds. When I finally did achieve victory, my completion time for the level was 2:37. Near the end of the stage, one of the enemy planes took off, necessitating a complete restart of the mission. I’d get shot in the first hall or accidentally shoot a hostage. Yet I continued to die, despite their idiocy. They’ll will run at you while you’re firing, stand next to live grenades, and even sit behind cover shooting straight into a wall. The enemies are in set locations as in older Call of Duty games, but they lack any type of intelligence. A timed rescue mission, you run along a narrow path through a Vietnamese air base trying to save some guys in suits using a predetermined load out of gear. It took me about one hour to get through the game’s second campaign mission on the lowest difficulty setting. “Arcade” is an important word to keep in mind here. The closest this game comes to gut-punch moments like crawling away from a nuclear explosion or bringing down the Eiffel Tower is a slow-motion jump out a window. Like Capcom’s Commando: You’re in enemy territory! Shoot the enemy! There are also none of the soap-operatics or set piece spectacles that defined the series since Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Declassified tells its tale the same way arcade games from the 1980s did. Bookending its ten campaign missions are gravelly narrations about the nefarious dealings of KGB agents, terrorists, Vietnamese troops, and the special forces soldiers of the original Black Ops, Alex Mason and Frank Woods. An Archaic Flavorĭeclassified attempts to tell a story. Declassified’s primary single-player modes are actually kind of fun once you strip away the expectations of its title. And at least mechanically, it isn’t that bad a game at all. This game Nihilistic made on behalf of Activision and Sony is not a Call of Duty game. Declassified is held back first and foremost by its name. In fact its biggest problem isn’t a crime at all. These crimes aren’t Declassified’s biggest problem, though. The levels are ugly, the objectives simple, and the Horde Mode – forgive me, the Hostiles – is about as exciting as playing Jacks without the bouncy ball. Brilliant! Writing quality akin to a direct to DVD Universal Soldier sequel is always the high bar to which games should aspire. “No one gets fu**in’ left behind,” yells your CO. Each line of dialogue reinforces every negative stereotype about military-themed shooters. The incessant butt rock music that plays in the background during every campaign mission sounds like the generic noise you would hear in a radio commercial for ringtones circa 2002. Incredibly short - not counting all the cheap deathsĬall of Duty Black Ops: Declassified for PlayStation Vita commits a few crimes. And since it governs the colon, you might experience constipation.Īttachment issues, such as holding onto objects or beliefs, come out of an unbalanced root chakra. The root chakra is associated with our foundation, so issues with your feet can come up when this chakra is out of balance. We might feel uncertain or confused about our life path or struggle with issues related to our sense of belonging. If this chakra is out of balance, it is normal to struggle to feel safe physically or emotionally. What an Unbalanced Root Chakra Looks Like Your five senses will be more intense and bold, helping you to experience life in new ways. The root chakra governs your instinctual nature and your fight or flight response therefore, when it is working optimally, you'll be resourceful, courageous, and stress-free. Your integrity, self-esteem, and will to live are all associated with the root chakra, so when it is balanced, you'll feel excited, passionate, and motivated, and your personal growth will soar. Our physical vitality and strength will be at its best and we will feel like we have all of the physical energy we need to go about our daily life. Money won't be an issue when your root chakra is in balance and it will feel easy to manifest prosperity and opportunities. We will feel that our lives are purposeful and balanced. When the root chakra is well balanced, we will feel grounded and connected to the earth, the people in our lives, and the present moment. Kundalini awakening starts at the base of the spine, so it is imperative that you get your root chakra flowing optimally before attempting to work on the other chakras. Since our ancestral memories are held in the root chakra, releasing our past life karma will help to unblock the root chakra. Issues from past lives, especially those that threaten basic survival are passed down through generations, which causes unconscious generational patterns. It has to do with our sense of stability, which includes the physical stability we find in nature as well as the stability of our family history, including our ancestors and our culture. The root chakra is the energy center that governs our survival and basic needs, so anything related to shelter, food, sleep, money, physical vitality, and even emotional needs like love and affection are managed by this chakra. It is the most dense of all the chakras and it vibrates at the slowest frequency. It manages the connection between our energetic system and the physical world and it serves as the foundation for the whole energy system in the body therefore, when this chakra is out of balance, it will affect all of the other chakras. The root chakra, otherwise known as the base chakra, is the first chakra in the body's main energy system and it is located at the base of the spine. Balancing it with root chakra stones can have profound benefits for your health and well-being. Tartakovsky also acknowledges that Adult Swim is going through “transitions,” where they can mix gonzo programming of old with stuff like “Primal” which, to Tartakovsky, is “more classic storytelling.” “They’re the home to more unique animation,” Tartakovsky said. “I think ‘Unicorn’ was intended, not for young kids, but you could certainly watch it at 10 or 12, or something like that.” “All I can do is kind of make the shows I make,” Tartakovsky said, unapologetically. And then we started to shift away from the technology and really into like, how are they supposed to figure out this mystery and figure out themselves at the same time?” That was the golden ticket for me to really focus on. “But then, through the years that became more and more cliché – how many robots come alive trying to take over the world could you do? And what and what started to rise was all the complexity of the character stories, especially with Melinda with her duality of being two characters at once. “It’s definitely more nuanced a bit from where it started more focusing on the magic versus technology aspect,” Tartakovsky said. And I had a vision for it.” Tartakovsky persisted, trying to sell it (“It went through a couple of development spurts at different places,” Tartakovsky admits) before finally landing back where the project started: Cartoon Network.Īs to what changed between that version he dreamed up two decades ago and the one airing now, Tartakovsky says not much. “It’s a good idea and was always very strong with me. And then for the last 20 years, I’ve been trying to sell it,” Tartakovsky said. He wanted the show to be very serialized, with a grand overarching mythology, but at the time “serialized” was a “bad word,” especially in animation, where the interchangeability of 11-minute episodes was key. ‘Primal’ Creator Genndy Tartakovsky Talks Season 2, New Characters and Why We Might Never Get Dinosaur Action Figures It is both outlandish and singularly visionary the kind of thing that could only be dreamed up by Genndy Tartakovsky, the fabled creator of “Dexter’s Laboratory,” “Samurai Jack” and, most recently, the Emmy-winning “Primal.” “Unicorn: Warriors Eternal” feels like both a culmination and extension of Tartakovsky’s previous work, mixing the spiritualism of “Samurai Jack” with that series’ go-for-broke action sequences, while containing the smaller, more emotional grace notes that make his oeuvre so beloved. There’s also a robot named Copernicus who guides the spirits through time. After a brief prologue, we’re introduced to our characters, who all live in a cartoonishly steampunk-y Victorian London – one warrior inhabits the spirit of a young newlywed woman (complicating matters for her betrothed), another a young street urchin. The Zachtronics Solitaire Collection is here! Inside you will find seven totally unique solitaire games originally designed as minigames for our 2016–2022 releases, updated with new 4K graphics, plus one brand new solitaire variant found only in this collection.“Unicorn: Warriors Eternal,” airing now as part of the Adult Swim programming block on Cartoon Network (and streaming on Max), is centered around four indestructible spirits who travel through time, inhabiting the bodies of whoever is around, as they battle the forces of evil. Especially towards specific parts of the division containing specific equipment (if a division had artillery in it and you were running a deficit it wouldn't deal as much soft attack). Now, originally if a unit did not have enough equipment and was below strength (underequiped/undermanned) it would take debuffs to its attack/defense and most of its stats. Whenever a unit looses a battle (sometimes it depends) It will take looses to its orange strength bar which amounts to casualties and equipment loss. If you dont know, Theres a orange/yellowish bar underneath a units green org bar that represents the units "health" which amounts to the manpower/equipment its using. More or less yeah, also What I mean by "unit strength" Im not talking about the units stats themselves. Originally posted by Riepah:I guess I get rewarded for sticking to vanilla?
